Timing your travel
Planing your flight times can be difficult around children, try to look at the time you are leaving but most importantly your arrival times.
- When you begin your holiday start planning your child’s sleep around the arrival time, try to get them to bed at the destination night time and wake them at their normal morning wake time, local time, and start the holiday from there.
- for Example: if you are arriving 10am your time but 7pm local time, keep the children up, have dinner put them to bed slightly later local time, wake them at 7am – no jet lag!
- with younger children I would always recommend a stop over, especially if they are under 5 yrs, it gives everyone a chance to get a good nights sleep, and wash any clothes/ bibs/ nappies that need washing.
