Trains – A wonderful way to Travel
Trains are the new cruise ship. More people are choosing to use trains as part of their holiday experience. They are a great option when travelling as a family; Kids can walk around the train during travel, you can sit together and have a lovely lunch while enjoying an ever changing view, all family members are hands free to play cards or a board game. It is a great way to interact with your family while moving between travel destination.
Most cities have their major train station in the middle of the city, so there is easy access to accommodation, restaurants and sites. This avoids the inevitable hour of driving around on arrival looking for the overly expensive car park, or long expensive taxi ride from the airport.
There are options for 1stclass, 2nd class or various sleeping cabin configurations. You can prebook your tickets or purchase a train pass that allows you to travel as many days as you like in a given time frame. This allows so much flexibility in your holiday, especially if travelling in Europe where there are many trains, destination and times to chose from.
You can use a train as a way to travel between holiday destinations or as a part of your holiday.
So Many trains to choose from, here are some of the favourites: Europe will offer the Global Eurail Pass or individual country rail passes, America has the amazing California Zephyr, New Zealand the Coastal Pacific, The Canadian through the amazing Rockies, Australia’s beautiful Ghan or Indian Pacific, South Africa’s Blue Train.
When you start thinking of your next holiday – consider using the train to travel rather than plane, boat or hire car – you will be glad that you did.
